About

Hi, I'm Irénée (it's pronounced "ee-reh-nay").

I grew up near Bordeaux, in the French countryside. I spent my teens dabbling in art and magic, until I realized the real world was stranger and more malleable than I thought.

Since then, I've been drawn to people who turn private obsessions into concrete, useful things.

Spending time on
  • National capacity-building. We're phasing out of globalization, and new industrial systems are emerging to fill in the gaps - energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, housing, compute, etc. The next generation of conglomerates will create net-new capacity or build platforms to orchestrate it.
  • Making construction machine-readable. We won't deeply automate construction until its core data formats become legible to computers. Today much of the industry runs on drawings and workflows that software can barely interpret. If you're working on breakthroughs at this layer, I'd love to talk.
  • Spatial and embodied intelligence. Systems that understand geometry, constraints, and real-world context - anything making it easier to move or interpret the physical world.
  • Breaking parasitic incentive structures. Cost-plus, extraction-by-design, deliberately inefficient business models. If you're collapsing them or redesigning their incentives, please reach out.
Long-standing personal interests
  • Consciousness and the nature of reality. Materialism is outdated as an explanatory framework for reality. Consciousness is actually fundamental - our base substrate. I believe this has major implications for our next scientific paradigm and belief systems.
  • Magic and illusionism. Magic is the exploration of belief and perception as a medium. I think it's one of the most powerful and beautiful artforms out there. It also taught me that most secrets are out in the open.
  • Depth psychology. It's the work of becoming more conscious by integrating hidden and rejected parts of ourselves - Carl Jung called this "individuation". Over a lifetime, I think it's one of the most meaningful forms of growth.
